Picturesque Mountain Escape
If you are looking to escape to the beauty of nature, the picturesque atmosphere of Mountain Lake Retreat is just for you! This beautiful craftsman-style home is located in Lake Lure Village Resort, a private, gated community that began as a children’s summer camp. This getaway is nestled between beautiful Lake Lure and Rumbling Bald Mountain, with over 1,000 acres of undeveloped land. It is perfect for all activity levels, from easy walking to rock rappelling. This home is 3.3 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 3.4 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 21.7 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Plan to spend your nights watching deer, wild turkey, owls, and flying squirrels, but please do not feed the bears! A waterfall and several creeks are located within walking distance, and there is also a hiking trail just past the home. Mountain Lake Retreat also offers Lake Lure access.

Maximum Comfort
There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on 2 levels in the home itself, allowing you and your family (including the four-legged members) plenty of privacy and an abundance of space with maximum comfort. The main level offers a spacious front porch, living room with a wood-burning stove, kitchen/dining area, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The upper-level loft has a king bed, daybed, foosball table, and bathroom with a claw-foot tub.

Dogs (1 or 2) are welcome in this home. Guests are required to clean up after their pets to avoid additional charges.

Smoking is prohibited in all of our vacation rental homes. 

Parking for 2-3 vehicles. 

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. local time or anytime after.

Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. local time or anytime earlier.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cancel a confirmed reservation outside of 30 days before arrival, there is just a $50 cancellation fee to help cover credit card cost and time.  If you cancel within 30 days, there is no refund unless we get the home rebooked.  If the home is rebooked for your canceled dates, we will refund all but the $50 cancellation fee.  Please note that we always recommend purchasing travel insurance/trip interruption insurance to help protect your investment should something unexpected come up.  Travel insurance is typically 6.95% of your total trip cost, and coverage details are available on the checkout page.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 30 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
