Escape to Writer's Block! Located within the private community of Piney Mountain with Outstanding Mountain Views, and just a short drive to Saluda, Mill Spring, or Lake Lure, Writer’s Block is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or simply a place to seek solitude to refresh the soul.

Beautifully decorated in light soothing tones, this lovely cottage offers 2 bedrooms (one King and one Queen), a full bath with towel warmer, a separate outdoor bath /shower (for seasonal use), and an open plan kitchen and living area.

Luxuriously furnished to make your stay as comfortable as possible, Writer’s Block is an unforgettable place to relax and unwind.

Whether you spend the day browsing the quaint art towns of Saluda and Tryon or engage in some of the numerous outdoor activities that abound in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Writer’s Block is the perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day. Enjoy the long-range mountain views over a sundowner on the deck, fire up the grill, roast marshmallows around the firepit, or feel nature surround you as you take an outdoor bath amongst the treetops. Please note: the outdoor tub is closed from November 15 - April 15.

With the leaves absent from the trees, the winter views are entirely new.  Plus, this area and the surrounding communities offer something for everyone.

No pets, no exceptions

Smoking is prohibited in all of our vacation rental homes. 

Parking for 2 vehicles. 

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. local time or anytime after.

Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. local time or anytime earlier.

Cancellation Policy:  If you cancel a confirmed reservation outside of 30 days before arrival, there is just a $50 cancellation fee to help cover credit card cost and time.  If you cancel within 30 days, there is no refund unless we get the home rebooked.  If the home is rebooked for your canceled dates, we will refund all but the $50 cancellation fee.  Please note that we always recommend purchasing travel insurance/trip interruption insurance to help protect your investment should something unexpected come up.  Travel insurance is typically 6.95% of your total trip cost, and coverage details are available on the checkout page.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 30 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
