How do I book a home? You can make a booking directly on this website CarolinaPropertiesNC.com Or call our office at 828-625-9800, and a reservationist will be happy to assist you. 

Is booking online secure? We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers' database. It will only be accessible by those authorized with special rights to such systems. They are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers. 

Can I bring my pet with me? We offer several homes, some allowing pets and others not. You can either look at our properties online by clicking on the "vacation rentals" tab above and see if the home you are looking at allows pets. Or you can call our office at 828-625-9800, and a reservationist would love to help find a home that is just right for you and your pet. 

What are the benefits of a vacation home rental? Our vacation homes are stocked in such a way that you always feel like you are coming "home" to your "vacation home" rather than returning to a small hotel room. Our homes have full kitchens, with some homes having game rooms, hot tubs, and BBQ grills. You will be able to enjoy a full-service home while you are on vacation rather than a small, cramped hotel room.

What are Check-in / Check-out times? Check-in time is 4 p.m.  Check-out time is 10 a.m.  We adhere to our check-in & check-out policy to ensure our team has the proper amount of time to clean, inspect and prepare your rental for your arrival.  

What are basic Check Out Instructions? 

1.  Be sure to grab all your phone chargers & belongings. Please be extra diligent and DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND.
2.  Sign out of any of paid channels on the t.v.'s
3.  Load and start the dishwasher
4.  Please take all trash to the dumpster or, as indicated in your individual home's instructions, which are emailed twice and sent via text before arrival.
5.  Lock the door, take your memories, and come back to visit again!

WHAT'S INCLUDED and WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING

Each home will include the following:
  • Beds made and ready to sleep in/ bath towels and washcloths are also included (BRING YOUR OWN OUTSIDE towels/blankets) *(NOTE - this applies to all homes except Cottage In The Cove, which does not include any linens or towels).
  • Dish soap and dish detergent
  • Silverware, dishes, pots, and pans
  • Sample size soaps and shampoos in bathrooms, starter set/one set per bathroom
  • One roll of toilet tissue per bathroom (Septic Tank Safe toilet tissue)
  • One roll of paper towels at the kitchen sink
  • Trash can liner in each trash can
  • One set of towels per guest (plus a few extras, just in case)
  • Laundry Detergent is Not provided

Laundry detergent Please Note - Many units have High-Efficiency washers, so we recommend bringing that if possible since it will work with all washers. If not, use about 50% less standard detergent in a HE machine. *
If applicable, beach towels, outside blankets, and anything you wish to use outside or in the hot tub. House linens or towels are not to be taken outside.
Bring your own food, coffee, coffee filters, spices, oils, etc., for cooking.
Life Jackets if applicable There may or may not be some on-site, but we cannot guarantee fit or safety regarding fit, so always recommend you bring your own

What about Directions & Parking? Prior to your arrival, you will receive a customized digital guestbook with details on directions and parking.  We've gone paperless, so it will be important that you view this information prior to arrival.

Do you allow Smoking? All rentals are Non-Smoking.  No smoking of any kind is permitted inside, which includes vaping. 

Parties, Events & Underage Drinking? We do not allow parties or events of any variety; The majority of our rentals are located in a residential community with both year-round residents and short-term guests.  As such, we ask that you respect their privacy and their right to a peaceful existence! Specifically, between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, noise should be kept to a minimum.  Parties, weddings, or large family reunions are prohibited in our rentals due to Ordinance and Fire Code.  Complaints of loud noises or underage drinking will result in eviction without any refunds being issued.

Do you offer Travel Insurance? Guests have the option to purchase travel insurance policy from a 3rd party provider, Rental Guardian (click on the link for an overview).  For full policy details, click here - Full Policy.

STANDARD TRAVEL PROTECTION:

  • Available to: All US and Non-US Travelers
  • Retail price: 7.0% x trip cost
  • Covers 100% of covered trip cancellation and interruption reasons
  • Coverage may be purchased at the following times:
  • At the time of initial booking;
    • On or before the final trip payment;
    • Up to 30 days before initial check-in.

Cancel for Any Reason TRAVEL PROTECTION:

  • Available to: US travelers ONLY (excluding: NY and WA travelers)
  • Retail price: 9 .8% x trip cost.
  • Covers 100% of covered trip cancellation and interruption reasons & covers 60% of any trip cancellation reasons not listed in the policy.
  • Coverage may be purchased at the following times:
    • At the time of initial booking;
    • Within 14 days of initial booking.

When are Payment / Deposit due? If the booking is made more than 30 days in advance of your arrival date, a payment of 50% is due at the time of booking.  If the booking is made less than 30 prior to arrival, 100% is due at the time of booking.  The credit card used for the first payment will be used to process all future payments and is automatically charged on the due date. 

What is the CANCELLATION POLICY? Guest receives 100% (less $50.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs more than 30 days before arrival. If you cancel within 30 days, there is no refund unless we get the home rebooked.  If the home is rebooked for your canceled dates, we will refund all but the $50 cancellation fee.  Note: Cancellation policies may vary on other marketing sites, but it is ALWAYS most affordable to book direct with us at Carolina Properties. We do not charge 8 -15% guest service fees because we are the direct source.

What is the cancellation policy if I booked through VRBO?    Guest receives 100% (less $50.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs more than 30 days before arrival.
Guest receives 50% (less the $50.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs more than 14 days before arrival. No refunds within 14 days of arrival.

What is the cancellation policy if I booked through AIRBNB?  There is a 50% refund up to one week before arrival, except for Airbnb fees.

There will be no refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, or for leaving the home for mechanical failure of non-essential items.   Please see above for details on Travel Insurance.  

How old do I have to be to book? Occupancy / Age / Restrictions? You must be at least 25 years old to rent any of our properties. In no event shall the Rental Property be occupied by more persons than the capacity of the property as stated on the website or the confirmation letter without prior approval.  No fraternities, school, civic, or non-family groups are permitted unless prior approval is granted.  In no event shall guests assign or sublet the Rental Property in whole or in part.  Guest agrees that they will be present during the entire rental period. 

Will the home be cleaned prior to my arrival? Yes, Our expectations are for you to enter a clean, fully ready, and properly stocked rental.  Regardless if you stay one night or seven, our cleaners perform the same tasks for every clean.  Therefore, the cleaning fee remains the same for any number of nights booked.  Should you arrive at your rental and notice something was overlooked or not cleaned, please advise us within 2 hours of arrival.  We are unable to correct the situation if we are not made aware.
